Daiane Placido Torres has completed Bachelor's and Licentiate degree in Chemistry (2007) and Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry (2009) from Federal University of Santa Catarina – UFSC, Brazil as well as doctorate in science (Analytical Chemistry) from the University of Campinas – Unicamp, Brazil (2013). She did a Sandwich Ph.D. in the University of Aberdeen, Scotland (2011 to 2012). She has experience on Analytical Chemistry with emphasis on trace elements, acting mainly on mercury and its speciation/fractionation, selenium, arsenic, cadmium and lead, method development and validation, food security, environmental safety, chemical vapor generation, atomic/optical/elemental mass spectrometry, sample preparation and factorial design. Currently she works for Embrapa Temperate Agriculture (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) as the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory Manager. Furthermore, she is an honorary fellow at Unicamp. She has 13 peer-reviewed publications that have been cited over 200 times, and her H-index is 8.
